San Antonio welcomed Hello Tallulah in November 2017.
Before opening the shop, owner Kristina Uriegas-Reyes spent seven years in New York City, writing and working with small businesses though social media. She has a background in retail, specializing in vintage and consignment. A blogger turned entrepreneur, she left NYC to return to her hometown of San Antonio, TX. She decided to follow her ultimate dream of opening this very special boutique.
With countless pop-ups under her belt, Kristina longed for a space she could mold into the ultimate happy place. “I want customers to walk in and feel excited to express themselves though fashion,” she explained, so she created the wonderland of whimsy that is Hello Tallulah. Positioned next to the renowned Woodlawn Theatre, Hello Tallulah has been embraced by the city and her Deco District neighborhood.
Kristina’s collection of vintage clothing is highly curated. “I want to make vintage feel special, but accessible,” she said. She specializes in gorgeous vintage clothing from the 1950’s-1970’s with an emphasis on fun and colorful dresses!
As a former plus-size model, sizing is at the forefront of her mind as she curates her collection. “It is important that I carry a variety of sizes,” she said. “Everyone should have the opportunity to feel fabulous in something unique.” Kristina believes whole-heartedly in personal style, body positivity and inclusivity.
The company name comes from her adorable pup, Tallulah, who was a very special part of Kristina’s family. Tallulah passed away in October 2018, but the name still evokes the quirky charm of her daily greeting, not to mention the glamour of old Hollywood actress Tallulah Bankhead.
With a retro environment that is enticing and exciting, Kristina invites all to find their next treasure at Hello Tallulah.
